Lucky We Are

Its been a boring summer so far, oh and not to forget a really scorching one too but the temperatures have dropped a degree or so and monsoon is here so its gonna be all good now. But this post is not about the heat...

I read these two books " A Tale of Two Cities " by Charles Dickens and "Zoya" by Danielle Steel. Now both these book were set at the time of Revolutions. A Tale of Two Cities takes place during the French Revolution and Zoya is set during the Russian Revolution and are basically good reads especially the first one. The books paint a very grim and sad picture of Revolutions, bloodshed, loss, mindless voilence etc etc and this got me thinking that how lucky we actually are.

Im sure all of us have heard that " ya mulk bari kurbaniyoon ka baad hasil howa ha" ( we got this country after a lot a sacrifices) and i never realized how true that was until now. Seriously we are so damn lucky to have gotten our homeland on golden platter, we didnt have to fight for it, we didnt lose our homes, our families, our loved ones, we didnt see our homes being destroyed infront of our eyes, our lives being torn apart.. man Lucky we really are!!!

rome, i think we WERE lucky.now we are just fools who are losing our country to senseless wars and bloodshed. dont we see our brothers and sisters become victims of bombs and suicide attacks every other day?
agreed that we got a home without any effort. but now we are standing at a very vulnerable stage, where we need to stand up and do something before we lose it

I read a tale of two cities, its was really really beautifully written, but haven't read daniel steel prolly coz i dont read that much...
Anyways, i think we are still lucky. This country is running on miracles...with solely Allah's help, every fiscal year, our economy is brought back from ashes, everyday, a collage of bodyparts is erased so that people find hope, and people do find hope here. Look around, you'll realise we are beyond the state in which normal countries would've collapsed. Every citizen works hard to bring the country down.
Ashfaq ahmad once said "pakistan dunya ka wahid mulk hai jis ka har shehri subha hathora le k is azam se nikalta hai k may aj is mulk ko tor k wapas aon ga, magar raat tak wo khud thak jata hai, mulk nae tabah hota"
actually this is a very very special country, it takes little observation to realise that, so we were lucky and we are lucky, its only that we've stopped caring

@ mha

" umeed pa duniya kaim ha" was definately said for us... i agree that despite everything if we look around, we have come quite far, knowing that we started from scratch, there are still some good hardworking God-fearing citizens around who sincerely work for the best of this country.. its just that in these trying times u really have to work to look at the good things.....Allah iss mulk ko kiam rakha Ameen
